Canadian Arthritis Summer School 2025

Apply to attend the virtual Canadian Arthritis Summer School (CASS)

Be part of the Canadian Arthritis Summer School (CASS) from June 3-5, 2025. A unique 3-day virtual event bringing together patient partners (see definition) and trainees to foster learning, collaboration, and innovation in arthritis research and care.

Summer school sessions will include:

  • A day in the life of a researcher, clinician, patient partner and trainee
  • How to appraise grant applications and scientific articles
  • Indigenous Engagement and being an ally in research
  • And six other sessions including scientific talks, best practice in patient engagement in research, and interactive skill-building workshops

Why register?

CASS will offer an opportunity for patient partners and trainees to:

  • Learn to collaborate and share knowledge
  • Build practical skills through hands-on workshops
  • Connect with each other

Expression of Interest

If you wish to attend the event, patient partners and trainees are encouraged to submit an expression of interest by April 28, 2025. Selected applicants will be informed by May 12, 2025.

Important Notes

  • Applicants can alternatively send an application in audio or video format to IMHA-IALA@CIHR-IRSC.gc.ca instead of the written form submission.
  • CASS aims to provide patient partners and trainees further access to summer school opportunities. We encourage expressions of interest from people from diverse geographies in Canada with various perspectives and interests about different types of arthritis and comorbidities.
